Pune, January 1, 2021: Considering the Covid-19 situation in Pune city, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to remove all containment zones in the city. So there will be no containment zone in the city from today onwards.
The civic administration has been reviewing the Covid-19 situation every week and revising the number of containment zones based on the situation in particular areas. Now, as the COVID-19 cases in the city are decreasing, PMC has not declared any containment zone.
Municipal commissioner Vikram Kumar issued the order on December 31. “There would be zero containment zones in the city. If a rise in positive cases is reported from specific areas or housing societies, it would be declared as a micro containment zone”, the order states.
