Mumbai, 30th April 2023: Rajasthan Royals won the toss and batted first to set a huge challenge of 213 runs against Mumbai Indians for victory. Mumbai beats Rajasthan by six wickets in the 42nd match at Wankhede Stadium

 

Rajasthan opener Yashasvi Jaiswal faced the Mumbai bowlers alone. He scored a blistering 124 off 62 balls. This is Yashasvi’s first century in IPL. In this, he hit 16 fours and eight sixes. After Jaiswal, Jos Buttler top-scored for Rajasthan with 18 runs. Arshad Khan took 3 wickets from Mumbai.

 

Rajasthan, who won the toss and batted first, made a strong start by scoring 65 runs in the power play. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten 41 off 23 balls played a major role in this. Meanwhile, Jos Buttler, who started cautiously, tried to switch gears after the power play. But Piyush Chawla dismissed him for 18 runs and gave Rajasthan the first blow.

 

After that, Sanju Samson, who started his innings with a six, was also dismissed for 14 runs off ten balls who was dismissed by Arshad Khan. After this, Piyush Chawla dismissed Devdutt Padikkal for two runs making Rajasthan’s situation to 103 for three wickets.

 

On one side, Rajasthan’s batsmen were retreating early, while opener Yashasvi Jaiswal faced the Mumbai bowlers alone. After Jason Holder (11), Hetmyer (8), and Dhruv Jurel (2), Yashasvi scored a 53-ball century to bring Rajasthan close to 200.

 

Yashasvi hit two sixes in the 19th over to take the team to 196 runs. Then in the 20th over, he hit the second and third balls for fours to take the team past 200. But he was caught on the fourth ball by Arshad.
