Jammu gears up for the peak season; Expects increase in tourists with host of adventure activities, new destinations

Pune, February 25, 2021 : With host of adventure activities, pilgrimage and tourist destinations, Jammu is gearing up for the upcoming season. As a part of multicity drive  to give fillip to the tourism , Directorate of Tourism , Jammu J&K and Jammu , Kashmir , Ladakh Tourism Stake Holders Association organized a tourism road show at Hotel Crowne Plaza , Bund Garden Road Pune . The press conference was addressed by Mrs Neelam Khajuria (KAS) Joint Director , Directorate of Tourism Jammu , B.B Kotwal , President Jammu , Kashmir , Ladakh Tourism stake holders Association , Abhay Bakaya General Secretary Tourism Federation Jammu  and Ajay Gupta, President Association of Religious Tour operators Katra , Vishwas Kelkar Chairman Travel Agent Association of Pune  and P. Behram, Chairman TAAI Pune.
Mrs .Neelam Khajuria (KAS) Joint Director , Directorate of Tourism Jammu said that the Jammu Tourist circuit has a huge potential whether it is pilgrimage , leisure or adventure tourism. The Jammu- Katra –Shivkodi which is the main pilgrimage circuit also boasts of many nearby regions with beautiful and picturesque landscapes including Patnitop and upcoming destination Badhrawah.
While lakhs of pilgrims visit pilgrimage destinations like Vaishnodevi , Rajhunath Temple , Shri Shiv Khori Cave , Mata Machail Temple etc , Jammu also offers serene unmatched destinations in the lap of nature including Patnitop, Sanasar, Bhaderwah, Sarthal & Bani. Kishtwar, Rajouri and Poonch dotted with vast green meadows and alpine lakes .World’s biggest tunnel named after Shyama Prasad Mukherjee at Udhampur, Largest and highest under construction Rail- Bridge at Reasi and water sports activity in Ranjeet Sagar Lake, Baglihar Lake, Mansar- Surinsar Lakes  have  immense potential for adventure enthusiasts, The Pilgrimage destination of Purmandal- Utterbehni, Kameshwer Temple Akhnoor, Jhiri Mishriwala and many more site- seeing spots attract tourism in big number round the year.
B.B Kotwal , President Jammu , Kashmir , Ladakh Tourism stake holders Association , said that the main aim of the road show is to gear up for the peak season and apprise the stakeholders including  tour operators about the destinations and activities . With new desinations like circuit of Bhaderwah , including the picturesque of Jai Valley , Serene Padri meadows, the nature trail of Gur-Danda , Kailash -Kund Lake at the altitude of 14000 feet in the majestic Seoj -Dhar Mountain, Gatha Lake Park and Trout Fish farm and apple Orchards , tourists are in for a great new exciting holiday season .Jammu has excellent connectivity with rest of India including flights, road and rail. We are making efforts to harness the potential of untapped areas which will help cement Jammu one of the premier destinations for tourism.
