Kasba Peth: Youth Attacked With Knife Over Past Enmity During Birthday Celebration, Accused Arrested

Pune, March 21, 2021: A 21-year-old youth sustained severe injuries after being attacked with a knife due to past enmity during a birthday celebration. Officials from Faraskhana police station have arrested the accused.
Based on a complaint from Swapnil Pawar, a resident of Kasba Peth, police have registered FIR against Prathmesh alias Sonu Laxman Kamathi (21) of PMC Colony in Kasba Peth.
According to police, the incident took place around 9.15 pm on March 18 opposite Shankar Ganpati Temple in PMC Colony no. 5 at 930 Kasba Peth.
“Pawar had gone to celebrate the birthday of his friend when Kamathi attacked him with a knife due to an argument a day before the incident. We have arrested the accused”, said Police Sub Inspector Pramod Hambir, who is investigating the case.
Police have charged the accused of offences under sections 307 (murder attempt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act.
