Pune: Bibvewadi Police Arrest Youth With Pistol, Live Cartridges

Bibvewadi, March 21, 2021: The officials from Bibvewadi police station, Pune city police, have arrested a youth for possessing an illegal pistol and live cartridges. The arrested accused has been identified as Aniket Raju Wasve (21), a native of Wasvewadi in Haveli taluka, who resided in Appar Bibvewadi.

On March 18 night, a police team was patrolling in their jurisdiction when constable Amit Pujari received information about the youth with ‘something suspicious’ stuck on his waist. Accordingly, a team led by Assistant Police Inspector Rajesh Usgaokar reached the washing centre in front of Kumbharwada and grabbed the accused. Police found a pistol and two live cartridges, totally worth Rs 52,000.

A case has been registered against at Bibvewadi Police station under Section 3 (25) of the Indian Arms Act and relevant section of the Maharashtra Police Act. The action was taken under the guidance of DCP (Zone 5) Namrata Patil, ACP (Wanowrie division) Rajendra Galande and Senior Police Inspector Sunil Zaware, in-charge of Bibvewadi Police station.

The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Anita Hivarkar,  API Rajesh Usgaokar, and police personnel Amit Pujari, Deepak Lodha, Satish More, Shrikant Kulkarni, Amol Shitole and Tanaji Sagar.
