Visakhapatnam, 4th April 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched their third consecutive victory in the ongoing Indian Premier League-2024 (IPL) as they triumphed over Delhi Capitals (DC) by a whopping 106 runs in the 16th match of the season. This win marked KKR’s first victory against DC in three years, with their last triumph against the side dating back to 2021.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Kolkata put up a formidable total of 272 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. This impressive total stands as the second-highest score of the IPL and is Kolkata’s highest score in the current league. In response, the Delhi team faltered, getting bowled out for 166 runs in just 17.2 overs.

Sunil Narine emerged as the Player of the Match for KKR, smashing 85 runs off just 39 balls, which included 7 fours and 7 sixes. Angkrish Raghuvanshi contributed with a brisk 54 off 27 balls, while Andre Russell played a quickfire innings of 41 runs off 19 balls. Rinku Singh also chipped in with 26 runs off 8 balls. On the bowling front, Enrique Nortya shone with the ball, claiming three wickets, while Ishant Sharma picked up two crucial wickets for KKR. For DC, captain Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs both scored half-centuries, with Varun Vakravarthy and Vaibhav Arora bagging three wickets each.
