Land Acquisition For Old Mumbai-Pune Road Widening In Bopodi Completed With 63 Properties Confiscated

Bopodi, 26th May 2023: On Thursday (25th May), extensive efforts were made from 8 am to 8 pm to widen the old Mumbai-Pune road, resulting in the acquisition of 63 properties and confiscation of the corresponding land, covering a total area of 4979 square meters.

The process of land acquisition for this area had been pending since 2018 in relation to road expansion. The operation involved 50 officers, 75 laborers, and a contingent of approximately 450 police personnel, including 5 police inspectors and 25 officers.

Supervised by Additional Municipal Commissioner Vikas Dhakne and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Shashikant Borate, the operation also saw the active participation of Deputy Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation Pratibha Patil, Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police Aarti Bansode, Special Land Acquisition Officer Shendge, Assistant Town Planning Sheetal Bhingardive, Assistant Commissioner of Aundh Regional Office Sandeep Khalate, Executive Engineer Dinkar Gojare, Deputy Engineer Prashant Mahindrakar, and officers from the Encroachment Department.

In four cases, claims made against the Municipal Corporation were resolved in favor of the corporation. The municipality has assured that road construction in the area will commence promptly.
