Last Date To File ITR For FY 2021-22 Is 31st July; Check How To Fill ITR

New Delhi, 22nd July 2022: The last date to file Income Tax Return (ITR) for the financial year 2021-22 is 31st July 2022.

A person falling in the income group is advised to file his ITR before the deadline. If one fails to file the ITR before the deadline, he/she may have to pay a penalty for filing ITR.

According to the revenue secretary, the government is not considering extending the deadline for filing income tax returns.

As the deadline is approaching, professional chartered accountants involved in filing tax returns are facing some difficulties. They claim that the website (incometax.gov.in,) runs fine a few times a day, but becomes quite sluggish at times. However, as the last date approaches, the number of return filers is also increasing.

Know how to file the ITR:

1. To file ITR sitting at home, you have to first go to https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/
2. After that you will have to give user ID and password here.
3. After entering the password, click on the Continue option.
4. Click on File Income Tax Return option and select Assessment Year.
5. Select the online mode of filing.After this select ITR-1 or ITR-4 form.
6. Salaried person has to select ITR-4 form.
7. After downloading the return form and selecting 139(1) on the filling type, a form will open in which fill all the information.
8. After this cross verify the given information and submit it.
9. After the submission of the form, its confirmation message will come on your mail id and mobile number.
