Mumbai, 5th July 2021: Speaker in Maharashtra Assembly today suspended 12 MLAs of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for one year. All the MLAs have been accused of creating ruckus in the House. The 12 BJP MLAs who have been suspended from the House are Sanjay Kute, Ashish Shelar, Atul Bhatkhalkar, Parag Alwani, Vijay Kumar Rawal, Abhimanyu Pawar, Girish Mahajan, Harish Pimple, Ram Satpute, Yogesh Sagar, Narayan Kuche, Kirti Kumar.

The monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly began with chaos today. The House suspended 12 BJP MLAs for one year for abusing and misbehaving with the Speaker. Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis insisted that these are false allegations.

“These are false allegations. A story is being made. No BJP MLA has abused,” Fadnavis told the media. He further said, “We are ready to sacrifice more than 12 MLAs for OBC reservation.”

Today the opposition created a ruckus in the assembly regarding the OBC issue. During this, it was alleged that Speaker Bhaskar Jadhav did not give him enough time to speak. The matter escalated after the House was adjourned.

Speaker Jadhav told the media, “Opposition leaders came to my cabin and abused me using unparliamentary language in front of Devendra Fadnavis and senior leader Chandrakant Patil. Some leaders even beat me up.”

The opposition alleges that the speaker also abused the leaders who went to meet him. Jadhav then asked the state Parliamentary Affairs Minister to inquire into the issue. After this, a decision has been taken to suspend 12 MLAs for one year. Sanjay Kute, Ashish Shelar, Abhimanyu Pawar, Girish Mahajan, Atul Bhatkalkar, Parag Alavani, Harish Pimple, Ram Satpute, Vijay Kumar Rawal, Yogesh Sagar, Narayan Kuche, Kirtikumar Bangadia are included in this list.

BJP MLA Ashish Shelar said, “This Thackeray government is acting like Taliban. I condemn the action. Neither I nor any other MLA abused Bhaskar Jadhav.” “None of the BJP members used abusive words in the cabin. I also apologized to them but in spite of that they suspended them,” he said.
