Maharashtra: 43,211 New Covid-19 Cases, 232 Omicron Cases In Pune District Today Among 238 In Maharashtra

Pune, 14th January 2022: 43,211 new COVID-19 positive cases in Maharashtra, while 33,356 patients discharged today, 67,17,125 COVID-19 patients discharged after full recovery until today. The Recovery rate in the state is 94.28%. 19 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state today. The Case fatality rate is the state is 1.98%.

Out of 7,15,64,070 laboratory samples 71,24,278 have been tested positive (9.96%) for COVID-19 until today.

Currently 19,10,361 people are in home quarantine and 9286 people are in institutional quarantine.

Omicron surveillance related information:-
Today, 238 patients with Omicron infection have been reported in the state. All patients have been reported by Indian Institute of Science Education and Research. Details of the cases are as below-

Till date, a total of 1605 patients infected with Omicron variant have been reported in the state.

Out of these, 859 cases have been discharged following a negative RT PCR test. The details of international passengers arriving at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur airports from 1st December till today morning.

Additionally, field surveillance of all international passengers who have arrived since 1st November is underway. Through airport and field surveillance, 4641 samples have been sent for genomic sequencing. Results of 83 are awaited so far.
