Maharashtra: 5024  fresh COVID patients in Maharashtra, 175 deaths

Mumbai, June 26, 2020: A total of 2362 patients were discharged while 5024 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra today. Today, 175 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state, Out of these 91 deaths occurred in the last 48 hours and rest 84 are from the previous period. The current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 152,765 informed State Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

According to the health department, 79,815 patients have been cured while the Case fatality rate in the state is 4.65%. As of today, there are 65,829 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 52.25% while the fatality rate in the state is 4.65%. Currently, 5,58,488 people are in-home quarantine and 36,903 people are in institutional quarantine.

Out of the 175 deaths reported in the state today, 91 occurred in the last 48 hours and 84 deaths are from the previous period. These include 73 deaths in Mumbai, 3 in Nashik, 2 in Thane, 1 in Ulhasnagar, 1 in Mira-Bhayandar, 1 in Pune, 1 in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 1 in Nandurbar and 1 in Aurangabad.

Out of 8,71,875 laboratory samples, 1,52,765 have been tested positive (17.52%) for COVID-19 until today. As per the guidance from the Government of India, a cluster containment action plan is being implemented in places where clusters of patients have been found in the state.

 

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 490,401 across the country. Out of this, 285,636 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 15,301 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 189,463 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
