Maharashtra: MNS To Protest Against High Electricity Bills

Pune, November 19, 2020: After the Maharashtra Energy Minister Nitin Raut refused to grant concessions on high electricity bills during the lockdown, the Raj Thackeray led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has warned of agitation. MNS general secretary Sandeep Deshpande posted on Twitter about the protest.

Citizens have been paying exorbitant electricity bills since the lockdown was implemented. The electricity bills have risen since April. Many people have not been able to pay their electricity bills during the lockdown.

The MNS members became aggressive as Energy Minister Raut refused to give concessions. Deshpande has warned of agitation from his Twitter account. “All the statements, applications, meetings, requests regarding electricity bill have been done. But the government isn’t responding. To give the people relief we will agitate on roads”, he said.
