Maharashtra: Students From Std I-X Of Marathi and Semi-English Will Be Given Homework To Assess Online Learning Progress

Pune, November 4, 2020: The Maharashtra government’s school education department has planned to start giving ‘Swadhyay’ (homework) on WhatsApp groups to initiate self-learning, curiosity among school students. The new initiative will be implemented for students of Std I-X studying in Marathi medium and Semi-English medium.

The school education minister Varsha Gaikwad stated that these homeworks will contain various questions based on Marathi and Mathematics subjects which will enhance and help their learning. Schools in Maharashtra are teaching online to cover the portions so as to avoid any academic loss for students, due to the ongoing Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

The state government hasn’t yet approved the schools to reopen fully. Therefore, in order to provide effective learning, the state government and schools have been mulling on various innovative activities to teach the students. In a continued effort to this, Gaikwad stated that students will be given homework that will assess their learning and understanding of the subject. Also, this will evaluate the effect of online education.
