Pune, 11th November 2025: In an effort to eradicate identity fraud in competitive exams, the Maharashtra State Examination Council has announced a sweeping set of security upgrades for the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2025, which is scheduled for November 23. The new measures include AI-supported verification, biometric attendance, and a specialised “Photo View” system designed to detect dummy candidates before they enter the exam hall.

AI-Based ‘Photo View’ System to Flag Duplicate Identities
At the centre of the new security framework is the Photo View mechanism, which will compare this year’s candidate photographs with images from earlier TET and TET-linked examinations. The system is engineered to identify inconsistencies such as the same photograph used under different names or one candidate appearing with multiple photos. Alerts generated by the system will allow officials to screen suspicious candidates ahead of exam day.

“This technology gives us the ability to identify impersonators instantly—even before they reach the centre gates,” said Dr. Nandkumar Bedse, Chairman of the Maharashtra State Examination Council.

‘Connect View’ Hotline to Link All Exam Centres
Strengthening coordination is the newly launched Connect View hotline network. Through a direct landline connection, each exam centre will be linked to the district control room and the state examination council headquarters. Calls on this network will be recorded, enabling rapid communication and transparent monitoring during the examination process.

Enhanced Security: Biometric Attendance and Metal-Detector Screening
On exam day, candidates will face rigorous identity validation. Security protocols include:
Metal-detector frisking at the entrance
Mandatory biometric attendance
Real-time face-recognition verification matched with application data

Dr. Bedse has directed exam officers to initiate immediate criminal proceedings if any impersonation, biometric mismatch or fraudulent behaviour is detected during the entry process.

“These measures will ensure that only authentic candidates gain access to the examination hall. Anyone attempting deceit will face strict legal action,” he added.
