Maharashtra’s First Glass Bridge Opens at Napne Waterfall, Aims to Boost Eco-Tourism in Vaibhavwadi
Sindhudurg, 25th July 22025: In a major boost to eco-tourism in Maharashtra’s Konkan region, the state has inaugurated its first-ever glass bridge, dramatically suspended over the picturesque Napne Waterfall near Nadhavade village in Vaibhavwadi taluka. Officially opened to the public on Tuesday, the bridge is poised to become a key tourist attraction in Sindhudurg district.
Built under the Sindhuratna tourism initiative, the glass skywalk offers visitors a thrilling opportunity to walk above the waterfall and soak in panoramic views of the lush green landscape. The ₹99.63 lakh project is designed not just to provide an adrenaline rush but also to showcase the natural beauty of the region in a sustainable, eco-friendly manner.
Located just 6 km from Nadhavade village and a mere 3 km from Vaibhavwadi railway station, Napne Waterfall is known for its year-round flow and tranquil surroundings, making it a popular destination for families, nature lovers, and monsoon travelers. While the falls remain calm during the summer, they transform into a dramatic, roaring cascade during the rains — a spectacle now best viewed from the safety of the glass bridge.
Regional minister Nitesh Rane took to social media to announce the bridge’s opening, calling it a “milestone for eco-tourism in the Vaibhavwadi region.” He emphasized that the project aligns with the broader goal of enhancing tourist infrastructure while preserving the area’s natural charm.
