Maharashtra’s Kaas Plateau in Full Bloom: Nature’s Valley of Flowers Beckons Tourists
Satara, 10th September 2025: Every monsoon, the Kaas Plateau in Satara district turns into a living canvas, and this year is no exception. Popularly called Maharashtra’s own “Valley of Flowers,” the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site is now in its peak blooming season, draped in a dazzling carpet of wildflowers that has already begun attracting thousands of visitors.
From late August until mid-October, the plateau comes alive with over 850 species of flowers and plants, many found only here. Currently, hues of yellow Sonki, purple Karvi, pink Aboli, white Pandhara Bakuli, and Topli Karvi dominate the landscape. The rare blooms, coupled with misty skies, make Kaas a dream spot for photographers, botanists, and eco-tourists.
