Why the low voter turnout compared to the last elections?
Pune district sees a high floating population, with many voters either relocated or abroad. Voting falling on a Monday, alongside an extended weekend, might have tempted some to prioritize vacation over voting. Issues like missing names, undelivered voter slips, and challenges in updating data due to Aadhar address changes also played a role. Adverse weather near Mumbai disrupted voting in some constituencies, while bans on phones at polling stations left many voters disgruntled, prompting some to leave without casting their votes.
