More Than 50 Countries Ban Flights From Britain Due To New Strain of Coronavirus

Delhi, December 24, 2020: The new strain of Coronavirus found in Britain has again increased the fear in people. After the detection of the new type of virus, more than 50 countries of the world including India have immediately banned travel to Britain. 

However, before this step taken by the Indian government has already brought hundreds of citizens from Britain to different states of the country. Not only this, many travellers are Covid-19 positive. Samples of all these people have been sent for examination. According to the information, the new strain spreads 70 percent faster than the previous virus. At the same time, the government has assured that there is no need to panic with the new form of Coronavirus in Britain.

11 travellers from the UK found infected in Delhi

After banning all flights from Britain to India, 984 passengers have been screened at Delhi Airport so far. A total of 11 of these passengers are Covid-19 infected. It also includes 514 passengers arriving at Delhi’s IGI Airport on Tuesday night through two flights. Among these, the reports of six passengers have come positive. Passengers found positive have been sent to the hospital for treatment. And 50 such negative travellers have been kept in the government quarantine who were sitting around the passengers found infected.

Eight coronavirus positives came to Amritsar

Of the 242 passengers who returned from London to Amritsar, eight have been found Covid positive. Genome test will be done for all these people. Through this test, it will be ascertained whether these people are victims of the new strain of Corona. These eight positive patients have been admitted to the private hospital in Amritsar. Their test samples will be sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune. Apart from this, plans are also being made to send other passengers to the Government Quarantine Center. The Health Department has started the process of contact tracing by forming teams across Punjab.

163 people from Britain come to Indore

So far, 405 people have been reported to come from the UK in Madhya Pradesh. Of this, 163 people from Britain have come to Indore after 25 November. Now two sampling teams have been formed to investigate the RT PCR of these people. Currently, all people have been home quarantined. According to the health department, those who will report positive, they will be treated by conducting health tests under the Covid Guideline. Even when negative, the home quarantine will be of 10 days. The Health Department has formed a WhatsApp group ‘UK Passengers’ to guide these people. All the instructions from the government will also be given.

These countries imposed travel restrictions

In view of the new strain, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Canada, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Israel have already banned flights to the UK. The British government has also issued a warning about this, according to which this new strain of the virus is very dangerous and out of control. Lockdown has been imposed in London and South England because of its fast-growing cases.
