Mumbai youth dies by falling into valley while taking selfies at Rajgad fort

Pune, February 15, 2021: A 19-year-old youth from Mumbai died after falling into a valley while trying to take a selfie at Rajgad fort. The incident occurred on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Anurag Anil Rakshe, a resident of Byculla in Mumbai.

According to the police, a group of 16 people had gone to Rajgad fort. The deceased’s power bank fell into the valley while he was taking a selfie around 7 am near Padmavati Machi on Rajgad fort. When he went down to get the power bank, he lost his balance and fell from the walls of the fort into the valley. He died on the spot as the valley is about 1,000 feet deep.

The deceased’s body was found by Balu Pawar, Anil Phanse, Govind Rasal, Police Patil Balasaheb Rasal, and police personnel Abhay Salunkhe and Aundubar Adwal. They brought him out of the valley and took him to Gunjavane village at the foot of the fort. The police called an ambulance immediately and sent the body to Pune for autopsy.
