New E-Bus Depot To Be Inaugurated At Pune Railway Station

Pune, 31st August 2022: The Pune Station E-Bus Depot Inauguration Ceremony and Launching Ceremony of 90 e-buses, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Union Minister of Heavy Industries Mahendranath Pandey, will be held on Friday, 2nd September 2022, in the presence of Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister.

 

The inauguration ceremony of 90 e-buses (out of 150 e-buses received under the FEM-2 scheme of the Central Government) and the opening ceremony of Pune Station E-Bus Depot of Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation will take place on Friday at 02.00 hrs.

 

For 150 e-buses received under the FEM-2 scheme of the Central Government, a subsidy of Rs. 55 lakh per bus was given by the Central Government. These e-buses will be operated on a GCC basis. The fundamental features of these e-buses running through the lane are 12 m. length, seating capacity of 33, fully air-conditioned, special facilities for the disabled, ITMS, and mobile charging facilities.

15 different routes have been planned through 90 schedules from the Pune Station E-Bus Depot. E-buses will run on Hinjewadi Maan Phase 3, Gokhalenagar, Alandi, Vishrantwadi, Lohegaon, Manjari Budruk, Ranjangaon/Karegaon, Kharadi, Vimannagar, Kondhwa Khurd, Salunke Vihar, Chinchwad Gaon, Shewalewadi routes. 45 AC/DC chargers have been installed at Pune Station Depot for charging buses. 225 km per bus per day bus operation is planned.

The Central Government has prioritized e-buses to reduce pollution in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation areas, and the PMRDA area. Further, the Government approved subsidies to Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation to provide air-conditioned, comfortable, noiseless, and economical bus services to the citizens.
