Pune Ganesh Chaturthi 2022: Check Traffic Diversions
Pune, 31 August 2022: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road will be closed for traffic on Wednesday for this year’s Ganeshotsav as processions to take the idol of Lord Ganesha will take place.
Therefore, the Traffic Department has appealed that motorists should use alternative routes. On the first day of Ganeshotsav, devotees throng the stalls from Dengle Bridge to Shivaji Bridge in Kasba Peth, in front of Shramik Bhawan (Anna Bhau Sathe Chowk), from Kasba Peth Police Chowk to Jijamata Chowk to Mahatma Phule Mandai area, and from Savarkar Putla Chowk, near Sarasbaug, to Saadhan Bhel Center Road. The processions will also be taken out by various circles on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony. Therefore, vehicle routes have been changed.
The alternative route is to take a left turn from Gadgil Putla Chowk on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road and proceed via Santaji Ghorpade Path to Kumbharves Chowk, Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk. Motorists going from Sancheti Chowk to Swargate on Shivaji Road should go from Barve Chowk (Modern Cafe Chowk), Jangli Maharaj Road, Khandujibaba Chowk, and Tilak Road to the desired destination. Jhansi Rani Chowk to Khude Chowk, via Dengle Bridge to Kumbharves, has been established as the alternative route.
Parking arrangements are also made from Kamgar Putla Chowk to Shivajinagar Court side on Veer Santaji Ghorpade Peth Manpa Bilbharna Center to Gadgil Putla Chowk – Tilak Bridge to Bhide Bridge Riverbed – – Satish Misal Bus Station and Babu Genu Bus Station in Mahatma Phule Mandi – Mitramandal near Sarasbaug to Patil Plaza – Jamnalal Bajaj Bus Stop from the left side of Puram Chowk Road – Nilayam Bridge to Sinhagad Road Junction Putala Chowk Road.
Roads with traffic (heavy vehicles will be banned and one-way traffic will continue) – Phadke Houd Chowk to Jijamata Chowk to Futka Buroj – Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk to Moti Chowk – Sonya Maruti Chowk, Belbagh Chowk, Sevasdan Chowk – Premier Garage in front of Mangala Cinema, the route of the Khude Chowk PMP bus from the lane has also been changed. Buses will go through Barve Chowk, Jungli Maharaj Road, and Tilak Road. PMP buses going from Municipal Corporation to Swargate will go through Jungli Maharaj Road.
On the occasion of Atharvashirpasthan tomorrow, the Atharvashirpasthan program will be held in front of Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Mandal from 5 a.m. The road from Jijamata Chowk to Rameshwar Chowk on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road will be closed for traffic. Motorists should take Gadgil Putala-Jijamata Chowk, turn left to Ganesh Road to Fadke Houd Chowk, Devjibaba Chowk, turn right to Hamjekhan Chowk, straight on Maharana Pratap Marg to Govind Halwai Chowk, turn right to Gotiram Bhaiya Chowk, turn left to Shivaji Road to Swargate.
