Pune, 5th March 2023: The Indian Railways has recently announced new rules that provide significant relief to railway passengers. The rule applies to passengers traveling on trains without tickets.

The new rule states that if a passenger is caught without a ticket during a train journey, they can now pay for their ticket online within a certain timeframe. Previously, these passengers were required to pay the fine on the spot, which could be a hassle and often resulted in long delays.

With the new rule, passengers can now make an online payment within a timeframe of 5 hours after being caught traveling without a ticket. The payment can be made through the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website, and passengers will not have to visit the ticket counter or pay the fine in cash.

This move by the Indian Railways is expected to benefit passengers, particularly those who might have inadvertently boarded the train without purchasing a ticket. The new rule also eliminates the need for passengers to carry cash or visit the ticket counter to pay the fine.
