Pune, October 22, 2020: A happy employee ensures happy customers which results in the formation of a successful company. Employees are an indispensable source of a company or an organization. Hence, ensuring employee satisfaction is a key factor in the growth of a company.

Novartis India, a pharmaceutical giant has come up with a new policy which aims at employee satisfaction. They have announced that their associates will be allowed to take 26 weeks of paid leave regardless of gender.

This move ensures that employees who have stepped into parenthood can time off from their work. As a parent, one of the most important responsibility is that of a child. In a household where the parents are working, raising a child becomes tough if you cannot take time off from work. A child needs to be raised with utmost care which requires time.

If a parent keeps working constantly, they miss out on their child’s growth and development. It is necessary for a kid to have a parent for proper nourishment and care. Hence, parents should be allowed to go on long leaves from work so that they can look after their kids.

With Novartis announcing this new policy of 26 weeks of paid parental leave, their employees will be able to go on leave without financial stress or worry.

Novartis India Sales Head-Metabolics Nilesh Pendse said that the policy helped him live and enjoy his moments as a new parent with his son Arjun.

Novartis India wrote a Facebook post in appreciation of Nilesh who got to enjoy the benefits of the new policy.

Nilesh said that the policy eased his load of worrying about his newly born kid. “The flexibility of the policy has meant that my wife & I were able to plan our respective parental leaves in such a manner that for the first 12 months, our newborn son (Arjun) had at least one of us with him”, said Nilesh.

He also said that his wife didn’t have to worry about going back to work the moment her leave ended as Nilesh’s leave had started which meant that he could stay home to take care of his kid.
