Pimpri, January 20, 2021: The decision to reopen the schools from class 5th to 8th is likely to be taken in next two-three days, informed Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation commissioner Shravan Hardikar.

He said, “We have received the guidelines from the State Government regarding the re-opening of the classes from 5th to 8th. We will study the situation in the twin town and will take the decision accordingly.”

The schools are closed from March 22, 2020, owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. But now it seems the cases are falling down and in the process of unlock, the demand to reopen the schools is taking grounds.

The Maharashtra State Government has allowed resuming classes from 9th to 12th, however, the parents’ consent was necessary. Accordingly, the schools and junior college were re-opened for three hours daily.

The final decision to open the classes will be taken after a detailed meeting with the corporators and officers. The State Government has notified that the schools can be opened from January 27 but has left the decision to local bodies.
