Pune Municipal Corporation Ranks 2nd in Maharashtra in 150-Day E-Governance Programme

Pune, 28th March 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has secured the second rank in Maharashtra under the Chief Minister’s 150-day e-governance improvement programme. The civic body scored 186.25 marks out of 200 in the evaluation conducted among 29 municipal corporations across the state.

The award was presented by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the presence of Information Technology and Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar. Additional Municipal Commissioner (General) Pavneet Kaur accepted the award on behalf of the Pune Municipal Corporation.

Under the 150-day e-governance improvement programme, PMC implemented several technology-driven initiatives under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram. The initiatives were led by Additional Municipal Commissioner (General) Pavneet Kaur, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Estate) Prithviraj B. P., and Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Omprakash Divte.

As part of the initiative, the civic body developed a modern, technology-driven official website and strengthened its online service portal to improve citizen access to municipal services. The corporation has also introduced digital tools for complaint analysis and management, along with citizen-oriented services through WhatsApp for grievance redressal and information dissemination.

Officials said the municipal administration has begun integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies into several civic projects to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
The programme involved coordinated efforts from multiple departments within the municipal corporation, while the implementation was carried out by the Information and Technology Department under its head Rahul Jagtap.

The final assessment of the performance of government offices across Maharashtra under the 150-day e-governance programme was conducted by the Quality Council of India.
