Pre-Monsoon Rains To Hit Maharashtra soon; IMD Issues Alert In Some Districts Including Pune

Pune, 18th May 2022: As the Southwest Monsoon arrived in Andman and Nicobar six days earlier than normal timing, it is also said that pre-monsoon rain will soon hit Maharashtra. This fact is reviving hope to people suffering from the heatwave.

 

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rains with thunderstorms in some parts of Maharashtra till May 21. This includes South Maharashtra, Konkan and some parts of Marathwada. Apart from this, heatwave is predicted in Madhya Maharashtra and Vidharbha.

On Tuesday (May 17), Osmanabad, Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur districts blessed with some rainfall with lightning and strong winds in this heatwave. Rain alert is also given to Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Osmanabad, Nanded, Latur, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia and Chandrapur on Wednesday (May 18).

 

IMD recorded the highest maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius in the Wardha district while the lowest temperature was 18.4 degrees recorded in Mahabaleswar.
