Pune : 36 PMPML Employees Suspended and 3 Terminated For Absenteeism, Notices Served To 142 Others

Pune 23rd July 2023: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has now decided to take strict action against the behavioural issues of its employees as it has suspended 36 employees for frequently remaining absent on multiple occasions. Besides, the newly appointed Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of PMPML Sachhindra Pratap Singh has also issued termination orders of three employees over the same issue.

 

According to PMPML, the CMD has issued suspension orders of 36 employees including 30 conductors and 6 drivers for remaining absent on duty on many occasions in the past. Three employees including two drivers and an employee working at workshop have been terminated following the action. Besides, the CMD has also issued notices to 142 employees including 78 conductors and 64 drivers for remaining absent without any prior notice on July 22.

 

“In order to ensure that maximum buses of PMPML ply on road, passengers face less inconvenience, to ensure less absenteeism of the employees and to maintain the descipline among the PMPML employees, the action has been taken” said PMPML in a statement.

 

The PMPML has recently started an initiative ‘Pravasi Divas’ to collect feedback and complaints from citizens at every depot on the second and fourth Friday of the month. Besides, the officers of the PMPML depot have been instructed to travel in the buses between 8 am and 11 am and review the facilities between 5 am and 8 am by interacting with the employees on every Saturday.
