Pune: 500 players from 45 schools to participate in UBS Athletics Kids Trophy Competition
Pune, 8th February 2025: The UBS Athletics Kids Trophy, a nationally prestigious competition sponsored by Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, organized by DS Powerparts, is being organized today (February 9, 2025) at the Savitribai Phule Pune University Grounds in Pune, and 500 players from 45 schools in the city will compete in the competition.
Tournament Director, Mr. Nikhil Laddha said that this competition will be held in the categories of boys and girls under 7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15 years. In this, these school players will put their skills to the test in three sports – 60 meter run, long jump and ball throw. Earlier, the preliminary rounds of the selection trials of
this competition were successfully held in Pune, Hyderabad and Mumbai. These selection trials received a huge response. In this, more than 12,000 school athletes from 45 private and government schools from Pune city participated in the selection trials for three sports – running, long jump and shot put.

500 players have been selected for the Pune zonal finals today after a very strict selection test. Many international players and athletes will be present and will encourage the players. They will also guide them. The national finals of the UBS Athletics Kids competition will be held in Mumbai on 15th February 2025.
