Pune: 7-Year-Old Rescued after Getting Trapped in Narrow Gap Between Wallsw in Katraj
Pune, 5th May 2026: A seven-year-old boy was rescued after getting trapped between two walls in a narrow space on Jambhulwadi Road in Katraj on Tuesday afternoon.
According to fire officials, the Katraj fire station received a distress call at around 3.09 pm reporting that a child had fallen and was stuck between two closely spaced walls near Govind Besil Society.
A team from the fire brigade rushed to the spot and found the boy, identified as Ranveer Chetan Chavan (7), trapped in the narrow gap. Firefighters used a hydraulic breaker to partially demolish the wall and bolt cutters to cut through iron rods embedded in the structure.
After a careful rescue operation, the child was pulled out safely without any serious injuries, officials said.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of in-charge Deputy Fire Officer Santosh Bhilare, along with firemen Kiran Patil, Mayur Kate, Prashant Kumbhar and driver Bandu Gogawale.
