Pune: Baramati Railway Station Ready for Inauguration Soon with Over 87% Work Completed Under Amrit Bharat Scheme

Baramati, 16th August 2025: Redevelopment of Baramati Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme has reached 87% completion, with most major works already finished and the remainder progressing steadily. The project, valued at ₹11.40 crore, is part of the nationwide modernization plan to improve amenities, infrastructure, and accessibility at railway stations.
According to progress details, completed works at Baramati include the Concourse Overhead Platform (COP), septic tank, new toilet block, compound wall, and a new water booth.
Several key works are in the final stages, including construction of a veranda with lobby (89%), waiting room toilet block (95%), portico works (90%), platform surface Kota stone fixing (97%), circulating area work (80%), main entrance gate (85%), booking office renovation (60%), new booking office store room extension (85%), and electric office extension (85%).
Remaining works yet to be taken up include seating facilities and a seating parking shed.
The scope of Phase I works for Baramati covers facade development, portico, circulating areas, COP and platform surface, seating facilities, Divyangjan amenities, toilet blocks, illumination, renovation works, compound wall, second entry, and signage.
The targeted completion date for the station’s soft upgradation is set for September 30, 2025. A Foot Over Bridge (FOB), ramp, lift, and escalator are not included in this phase of works.
Baramati is among the 20 stations in Pune Division undergoing redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which aims to modernize railway stations nationwide with better facilities, aesthetics, and accessibility for passengers, including senior citizens and Divyangjan.
