Pune: Bomb Threat Email Reported at DY Patil College in Akurdi; Students Evacuated, Investigation Underway

Pimpri, 11 March 2025: A bomb threat email sent to D.Y. Patil Engineering College in Akurdi, Pimpri Chinchwad, triggered panic among students, teachers, and parents. Upon receiving information about the threat, police responded swiftly and conducted a thorough search of the college premises.

The email was received on the college’s official email account around 9 AM today. Following the incident, students were evacuated as a precautionary measure. The college administration immediately alerted the police, prompting the rapid deployment of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, the Dog Squad, and the Crime Branch to search for any explosive device. However, no suspicious materials have been found so far.

Senior Police Inspector Nitin Phatangre stated, “After receiving the information about the threatening email, a bomb disposal squad conducted a thorough inspection of the college building and premises. So far, nothing suspicious has been found, but the investigation is still ongoing.”
