Dhayari, 17th March 2023: A schoolboy was viciously attacked by stray dogs in the Dhayari area of Pune on Thursday morning. The 12-year-old boy, identified as Arjun Supekar, suffered serious injuries when the handle of his bicycle entered his stomach during the attack. His hand was also fractured. Reports suggest that his intestines came out as a result of the injuries sustained. Shockingly, the boy did not receive immediate medical attention following the incident.

However, after receiving information about the incident, Mahesh Pokle, the head of Shiv Sena branch, called an ambulance and arranged for the boy to be admitted to a private hospital for treatment. Supekar underwent surgery on his stomach.

This is not an isolated incident. In the past few months, many people in the Dhayari area have been injured by stray dogs, and there have been reports of dog gangs attacking citizens at night, causing further accidents. The incident has created a sense of fear among the citizens, who have demanded that the municipal team take steps to control the stray dog population.

Pokle has called for a center to be set up for the stray dogs in the area and for the municipal administration to take responsibility for managing the issue. Meanwhile, Pradeep Awad, Assistant Commissioner of the Sinhagad Road Ward Office of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), has stated that the main department will be informed about the situation and steps will be taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
