Pune Branch Of ICAI Wins Four Awards

Pune: Pune Branch Of The Institute Of Chartered Accountants of India have won first prize for the remarkable work that has been done in the year of 2019 on national and regional level. On national level Pune Branch Of ICAI won first prize as the Best Branch and as the Best Student (Vikasa) branch. Whereas on regional level, Pune Branch of ICAI won first prize in both of the categories. In a programme organised at New Delhi awardees received these awards at the hands of Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla and central minister Anurag Thakur.

Every year best branch and best students’ branch awards are given from the Head Office and from regional offices. Among 17 branches (highest number of members) on national level Pune branch won these awards by working according to the eligibility criteria. Whereas students branch ‘Vikasa’ won the first prize by scoring 100% marks. All of these four awards have been won under the leadership of CA ruta Chitale, Chairperson, Pune Branch of ICAI and CA Abhishek Dhamne, Chairman, Vikasa. In the history of fifty years this is just the third time that all four prizes have been won by the same branch in a single year.

CA Ruta Chitale said, “We organised various activities in the period of a year. We invited various eminent speakers, organised programmes related to economy and national level conferences. All members actively participated in these activities. In this causeries of the branch, members of the head office, members of western regional causery, members of the subdivision of the Pune branch, all chartered accountants in Pune, speakers, students, servants in the Pune branch have their own share of contribution. This would not have been possible without the help of everyone. ICAI has 163 branches pan India, Pune branch is the third biggest branch on national level. There are 800 CAs in this branch, and 22 thousand CA students.

CA Abhishek Dhamne said, “We planned the programmes to be held in a year considering the challenges in front of the CAs. We conducted various activities to increase the number of members and CEO-CFO meet, outreach programme. We organised activities outside the academics for the holistic development of the students. It included Industrial visits, human chain, tree plantation, and cultural events. International conference was one of the remarkable big events that we organised successfully. In this students came from across the country and visited different places in Pune. We could achieve this success only because giving priority to the development of students.”
