Pune: Burglary at Ex-IAS Puja Khedkar Family Bungalow in Aundh, Her Parents and Staff Found Unconscious

Aundh, 11th January 2026: A burglary was reported in the Aundh area during the early hours of Sunday after multiple occupants of a bungalow were found unconscious under suspicious circumstances, Pune City Police said.
According to information received from Chaturshringi Police Station, the incident occurred around 1.30 am on January 11 at Bungalow No. 112, National Housing Society, Baner Road, Aundh Police were alerted via a phone call about a suspected theft at the premises.
When the police reached the spot, the caller, Puja Khedkar, along with her two brothers Vinay Budhwant and Harshad Budhwant, were present. During inspection, the watchman, identified as Jitendra Singh, was found unconscious in the car parking area.
Police further inspected the house and found Khedkar’s parents lying unconscious on their bed in their bedroom. The wooden cupboard in the room had been ransacked, with household items found scattered on the floor. Similar conditions were observed in three other rooms, where cupboards had been opened and belongings thrown around, indicating a burglary.
An ambulance was immediately called, and the watchman and Khedkar’s parents were shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
Further inspection revealed that Khedkar’s driver, Dadasaheb Dhakane, was found unconscious in a room on the ground floor, while the family’s cook, Sujit Roy, was found unconscious in a separate room outside the bungalow. Both were also sent to hospital for treatment.
Police said that when Puja Khedkar was asked to lodge a formal complaint, she stated that her parents’ health condition was not stable and that she would file the complaint at a later time.
Chaturshringi Police have begun preliminary inquiries and are awaiting a formal complaint to register a case. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and whether any valuables were stolen.
