Pune Chapter of the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) launched

Pune, 18th May 2022: The Pune chapter of the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) was launched in the city on the 13th of May.

The formal unveiling was done by Praful Chandawarkar, Head, Pune Chapter and managing director, Chiranjeev Restaurants and Foods Pvt Ltd and Kevin Tellis, Co-Head, Pune chapter and Head of Operations, pH4 Food and Beverages Private Limited.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Praful Chandawarkar, Head, Pune chapter, NRAI said “NRAI has been at the forefront and leading the Indian restaurant industry to greater profitable growth, besides representing interests of members through advocacy, training, research and industry events.

As an association we hope to be the voice and focal point to coordinate groundwork and actions pertaining to government issues, regulations and representations, facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experience and passing of information related to various essential compliances by conducting seminars and knowledge sessions with industry experts.”

Also speaking on the occasion, Kevin Tellis, Co-Chapter Head, NRAI Pune Chapter said, “ Locally, the chapter apart from helping raise service standards through training workshops, will work towards building a strong platform for right vendor management and develop social impact initiatives to ensure the industry grows with its heart in the right place.”

A media release issued in the city on Tuesday stated that the Pune chapter of the NRAI was being launched to strengthen and unite the restaurant fraternity in the western region. The NRAI represents over five lakh restaurants nationally. According to the release, the restaurant industry in India was valued at INR 4,23,865 crores, of which the organized market share of restaurants in Pune stood at INR 7,237 crores.

The event took place in the presence of Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Bansode, Anurag Katriar, NRAI past president and trustee, Mumbai chapter Heads, Rachel Goenka and Pranav M Rungta, as also Prakul Kumar, secretary general, NRAI.
