Pune City Police Receive 9 New Vehicles for Enhanced Patrolling and Law Enforcement

Hadapsar, 28th May 2025: Pune City Police have bolstered their fleet with nine new four-wheeled vehicles, donated by Amanora City Corporation Limited through their CSR fund, in a formal handover ceremony held on 28th May. The vehicles were officially presented by Amanora’s Managing Director, Aniruddh Deshpande, to Pune City Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar. All these vehicles will be used in Zone 5 of the Pune Police, which includes Hadapsar, Kondhwa, Mundhwa, and other police stations.
Currently, the Pune City Police Motor Transport Department operates a total of 959 government vehicles, including 514 four-wheelers and 445 two-wheelers, across 39 police stations. These stations are supported by 39 CR mobile units and 123 beat marshaling vehicles, all working 24×7 to ensure effective patrolling, crime prevention, and public safety throughout the city. Specialized departments such as traffic, crime, CID, ATS, ACP, QRT, BDS, economic offenses, and SPU remain on constant alert to serve the city.
With Pune’s rapid urban development and population growth, the police force’s responsibilities have expanded and grown more challenging. The need for advanced, well-equipped vehicles is critical for law and order maintenance, VIP and VVIP escorts, court production of accused, crime investigation across districts and states, and efficient beat marshaling.
Previously, around 670 police vehicles had been decommissioned and auctioned, creating a significant gap in the police fleet, especially given the addition of seven new police stations. The donation of these nine new vehicles by Amanora City Corporation will help the Pune City Police enhance their patrolling capabilities and better meet the evolving security needs of the city.
