Pune: COEP Spandan Celebrates 20 Years with Six-Day Festival “Abhishta”

Pune, 6th October 2023: COEP Spandan, the social work club of COEP University of Technology, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. 

The festival “Abhishta” was inaugurated on October 3rd at 4 pm in the COEP Auditorium. Notable personalities Amrit Deshmukh, also known as the “Booklet Guy,” and Avinash Chate graced the inauguration ceremony as chief guests.

The festival was a hub for various social initiatives. Programs like “Rethink Plastic,” aimed at plastic awareness, “Street Smart” for traffic safety, and “Empower Her” focusing on university girls, were organized. Other events included “Eco Spark” for energy awareness, “Harbor Of Hope” to recognize unknown social workers, “Green Thumb Gathering” for innovative tree plantation, and “Youth Ignite,” which provided social and technical guidance to the youth. Sharad Tandale was the chief guest for the “Youth Ignite” program.

Blood Donation Camp

On October 6th, a Blood Donation Camp was held in the Main Building of COEP from 10 am to 4 pm, contributing to the community’s well-being.

Farewell Ceremony and Special Attendance

The festival will conclude today with a farewell ceremony. Ex-members of COEP Spandan and a host of dignitaries including Dr. Anil Sahastrabuddhe, Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, Shravan Hardikar (IAS), and Vice Chancellor of COEP University Dr. Agashe will be in special attendance. The event is organized by COEP Spandan members Chintaman Sanap and Reshma Hajite.

Awards and Future Course

In today’s ceremony, the innovative awards for “Shakuntala Patade Best Woman Entrepreneur” and “Best Social Venture” will be presented. Information about Spandan’s future initiatives will also be shared.

The festival has been a milestone in COEP Spandan’s journey, successfully promoting social awareness and community building.
