Warje, 19th October 2021: A huge crowd gathered in the Warje area of Pune as a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator was distributing free milk on the occasion of Kojagiri Purnima. People were gathering with bottles, glasses and other utensils in a large number to collect milk.

Corporator Sachin Dodke distributed 13,000 litres of milk to people in his area. However, many people were seen flouting Coronavirus disease (COVID19) preventive norms.

He distributed 3,000 litres in the housing societies and 10,000 litres through a tanker.

Dodke said, “People have no money to celebrate the festival due to inflation and the situation they have gone through during COVID. They are already suffering to get basic things for their livelihood. It is difficult for them to purchase things to celebrate the festival, hence I decided to distribute free milk on the occasion of Kojagiri Purnima so they can celebrate the festival.”

When asked about COVID norms violations, he added, “There was a crowd as people had just returned from work. We had put up barricades to manage crowds.”
