Pune: “Dahihandi Sankalp Nashamukti” Campaign Addresses Drug Addiction Menace In Lonavala

Lonavala, 11th September 2023: In an effort to combat the rising issue of drug addiction among the youth, Superintendent of Police (Pune rural) Ankit Goyal and Assistant SP Satyasai Karthik of Lonavala Sub-Division, have launched the ‘Dahihandi Sankalp’ initiative. This unique campaign aims to promote drug-free living and raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.

As part of the broader ‘Nashamukti’ (addiction-free) campaign, the renowned ‘Swatantra Theater Group’ took center stage to deliver a powerful message during the Dahihandi festival organized by the Maval Varta Foundation in the Lonavala City Police Station area. The street play titled ‘Sankalp Nashamukti’ captivated an audience of approximately 5000 individuals, delivering a strong message urging young people to abstain from all forms of drug consumption.

ASP Satyasai Karthik addressed the gathering and provided the mantra for liberation from drug addiction. The event saw the active participation of Police Inspector of Lonavla City Police Station Sitaram Dubal, Lonavla City Police Staff, as well as officials from the Maval Varta Foundation and members of the public.

The ‘Dahihandi Sankalp Nashamukti’ campaign is a significant step forward in the fight against drug addiction, aiming to create a drug-free and healthier environment for the youth in Lonavala.
