Pune: Demand Grows for Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Statue and Traffic Circle in NIBM Annexe
Kondhwa, 21st August 2025: Jaymala Dhankikar, a prominent BJP worker and social activist from the NIBM Annexe area, has appealed to the Maharashtra State Government for the installation of a statue of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj along with the development of a traffic circle at a key junction in NIBM Annexe, Pune.
Dhankikar said the demand reflects the strong emotional and cultural sentiments of local residents, who consider Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj a symbol of courage, patriotism, and unwavering faith. “This is not just about a statue, but about honoring a legacy that inspires generations. For the community, it is a matter of pride and identity,” she stated.
She added that the proposed traffic circle would not only streamline vehicular movement in the fast-developing area but also enhance the civic aesthetics of the locality.
Dhankikar urged the State Government to grant swift approvals and initiate the project at the earliest, stressing that it would preserve and celebrate the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj while addressing a growing civic need.
