Pune: Devendra Potphode Appointed As Chief Fire Officer Of Pune Municipal Corporation
Pune, 29th August 2022: Devendra Potphode has been appointed as the Chief Fire Officer of Pune Municipal Corporation. Along with the PMRDA fire department, he will look after the municipal fire brigade.
Potphode is a gold medalist from National Fire Service College, Nagpur. He has been working in the fire department for more than 30 years. He has previously held responsibility in MIDC. He has personally attended and led various incidents like fire rescue calls, severe fire accidents, explosions, and natural calamities in MIDC industrial and urban areas.
The fire disaster at the Serum Institute and the fire at SV Aqua at Pirangut were also managed under his guidance. He has visited developed fire services in the USA, Germany, France, Japan, Austria, and Dubai and has also received the President’s Medal twice – in 2011 and 2021.
