Pune: Fire Brigade Saves Driver After Tempo Falls Into 40-Feet Deep Well

Kondhwa, 22nd March 2023: A driver who fell into a well along with a Tempo after putting the vehicle in reverse gear was safely rescued by the fire brigade. The incident occurred near the Purandar Washing Center in Gokulnagar on Katraj-Kondhwa Road on Wednesday (22nd March) at around 9.45 am.

According to the information received from the fire brigade, Vinod Pawar (35) had gone to the Pickup Tempo Washing Center. While sitting in the tempo, he put the reverse gear, causing the tempo to go backward and Pawar to fall into the well along with it.

On receiving the information, the fire brigade team reached the spot. Pawar had fallen into a 40-feet deep well and was holding onto a rope on the side.

The jawans promptly threw a big rope and ring into the well and lowered jawan Kiran Patil down. Jawan Patil communicated with Pawar, who was stuck in the well, and gave him courage. He then tied a rope around Pawar’s waist, and using a ring, Pawar was safely pulled out by other jawans. The rescue operation was carried out successfully in about 30 minutes.

The operation was carried out by Katraj Fire Station Officer Sanjay Ramteke, Driver Bandu Gogawle, Tandel Vasant Bhilare, Kiran Patil, Shubham Shirke, Sanket Shelar, and Dheeraj Jagtap.
