Pune: Flower Exhibition Of Empress Botanical Garden Opens For Citizens

Camp, 25th January 2023: Flower exhibition has been organized by Empress Botanical Garden from January 25 to January 29. The exhibition was inaugurated today by MP Srinivas Patil.

Honorary Secretary of the organization Suresh Pingle and Trustees Anupama Barve, Srinath Kawade, Suman Kirloskar, Prashant Kale, Prashant Chavan, etc dignitaries were present on this occasion. This exhibition has been organized on behalf of the Agri Horticulture Society of Western India.

The flower exhibition will be open for all from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm. Various flower, vegetable, and bonsai competitions have been organized in the exhibition. Vendors from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Sikkim will attend the exhibition. It will have various stalls like a nursery, agricultural implements, fertilizers, pots, gardening materials, and food.

This year, various floral designs made in Japanese style and different types of bonsai trees will be seen at this place. The Empress Garden with its various trees and vines is in full bloom and Pune residents will soon be able to enjoy it.

Since 100 years ago, flower exhibitions were organized through the organization to create affection towards nature in the public mind. The institution has maintained that tradition to date, except for a period of interruption.

The flower display in the garden started again in January 1998. Even from the very first exhibition, the people of Pune gave a spontaneous response to it.

Not only from Pune but even Kolhapur, Sangli, Nashik, Andhra Pradesh, etc. Nursery professionals from all over come to participate in this exhibition. The specialty of this event is that it includes not only flowers but also various types of decorative plant pots, vegetables, flower arrangements, garden replicas, etc.

On the occasion of the flower show, painting and handwriting competitions are also organized for children every year. Around 1,000 students from different schools participate in this competition. This year too painting competition and handwriting competition for school students will be held on Sunday (January 22).

The main attraction of the exhibition is the variety of flower arrangements. (this year also) various floral arrangements made in Japanese style as well as different types of bonsai trees created by the contestants will be liked by flower lovers.
