Pune: Four Individuals Booked After Gang Causes Panic and Vandalises Vehicles in Wanowrie

Wanowrie, 22nd November 2024: An incident occurred in the Bhairoba Nala area of Wanowrie, Pune, where a gang created panic by brandishing a koyta. The gang vandalised nine vehicles, including a car, rickshaw, tempo, and two-wheelers. The police have registered a case against four individuals in connection with the incident. Mayur Uttam Gaikwad (32, a resident of Bhairoba Nala) has filed a complaint at Wanowrie Police Station.
Chimta Wasti, a settlement near St. Patrick’s Cathedral in the Bhairoba Nala area, was the scene of the incident. Yesterday afternoon, the gang entered the settlement armed with koytas and wooden sticks, spreading terror by brandishing these weapons. The gang vandalised vehicles in the area and verbally abused the residents. When Mayur Gaikwad came out of his house, the gang threatened him with death and continued their abuse. They fled, threatening, “We are the ‘Bhais’ of this area. If anyone gets in our way, we will kill them.” While leaving, the gang also vandalised a two-wheeler and a rickshaw parked nearby.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police quickly arrived at the scene. Assistant Police Sub Inspector Kumbhar is investigating the matter further.
