Pimpri Chinchwad, 22nd March 2023: The Health Department of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched isolation department facilities in five of its hospitals to deal with the increasing cases of H3N2. Each department has ten beds reserved for patients affected by the disease. Although the number of cases in the city is low, the health department has taken these measures as a precautionary step.

Dr Laxman Gophane of the Health Department said that if the number of patients increases, more hospitals could be reserved for treatment. However, at present, the outbreak of the disease is under control, and the department urges citizens not to worry.

The H3N2 virus has been spreading in Maharashtra, and separate isolation departments have been started in YCM, Thergaon, Jijamata, Talera, and Bhosari Hospitals of the Municipal Corporation to provide treatment to the patients. The department is well-equipped to deal with the outbreak, and citizens are advised to take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
