Pune Woman On World Tour In Traditional Saree Meets PM Modi

Pune, 22nd March 2023: Ramila Latpete, a resident of Chinchwad, who is on a two-wheeler world tour campaign dressed in a traditional Marathi saree, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday (21st March). Ramila is traveling to 40 countries under the ‘RAMA’ (Raising Able Mankind All Round) campaign to empower women and youth through her NGO, the Ahilya Foundation.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi wished her the best of luck on her journey and assured her of the country’s support. He instructed his office to provide full cooperation in case of any problems she may face during her journey. The meeting was arranged with the help of Maval MP Shrirang Barne.

Ramila, who started her journey on 9th March from the Gateway of India in Mumbai, reached Delhi on a motorcycle after covering a distance of 1,572 km. She plans to return to India on 8th March 2024.

During her world tour, Ramila is dressed in a Nauvari saree and Nath, the traditional Marathi attire. On the occasion of Gudhi Padwa, she gifted a Gudi to Prime Minister Modi as a token of her respect.

MP Barne also stated that the Prime Minister called his assistant and instructed him to fully cooperate with Ramila
