Pune: Man Kills Mother After Medicine Overdose, Dies By Suicide

Dhankawadi, 2nd January 2022: A 76-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her son with an overdose of medicine and sealing her face in a plastic carry bag. Later, he allegedly died by suicide.

The deceased have been identified as Ganesh Manohar Fartade (42) and Nirmala Manohar Fartade, both residents of Akshay Garden society in Dhankawadi, Pune.

Based on the complaint from Ganesh’ cousin sister, Sahakarnagar police station has registered an FIR.

According to police, Ganesh was currently unemployed and was in debt. His mother had been ill and he had spent considerable money on her treatment.

Police said that Ganesh had given an overdose of medicine and after she became unconscious, he sealed her face in a carry bag and then strangled her to death with a rope. He hanged himself on the terrace.

Police are further investigating the case.
