Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Bust Prostitution Racket Spa Centre In Sangvi, 8 Women Rescued

Sangvi, 1st January 2021: The social security cell (SSC) of Pimpri Chinchwad police on Friday (December 31) busted a sex racket operating from a spa centre in Sangvi and rescued eight women including three foreigners.

After getting a tip-off, police raided Brindille Spa & Beauty in Shahu Palace near Krishna Chowk, Sangvi, around 4 pm on December 31. Out of eight women, three are from Nepal, four are from Assam, Delhi and West Bengal while one is from Maharashtra.

Police have arrested spa manager Sheikh Latif while owner Partha Mahanti is absconding. The accused took Rs 3000 from each customer out of which a woman got Rs 1000. An FIR has been registered in this regard at the Sangvi police station.

In the last 20 days, SSC led by Police Inspector Devendra Chavan has rescued 38 women forced into the flesh trade after conducting raids in Dighi, Talegaon, Mahalunge, Sangvi, Pimpri, Wakad and Dehuroad police stations of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. A total of 17 accused have been arrested.
