Mumbai/Pune, 22 June 2021: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today approved the proposal to increase the bed capacity from 100 to 200 at Manchar Sub-District Hospital, which is the medical centre for Khed, Ambegaon, and Junnar talukas in the Pune district.

Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil, Health Minister Rajesh Tope, Minister of State for Health Rajendra Patil-Yadravkar, Additional Chief Secretary of Planning Department Debashish Chakraborty and Principal Secretary of Health Department Pradeep Vyas were present during the meeting at the office of Deputy Chief Minister in Mumbai.

Khed, Ambegaon, and Junnar talukas of the Pune district are tribal-dominated and remote areas. The Pune district headquarters is far from these three talukas. Keeping that in mind, Pawar approved the proposal to upgrade the bed capacity at the sub-district hospital in Ambegaon from 100 beds to 200 beds.

The increase in the number of beds at the hospital will greatly benefit the residents from these areas, including the tribals.
