Pune: Massive Banyan Tree Falls in Front of Rasta Peth Power House, Injuring Several; Road Closed
Rasta Peth, 27th July 2023: A massive old banyan tree has fallen in front of Rasta Peth Power House, causing concern among the residents. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but 4 to 5 people sustained minor injuries and were promptly treated at KEM Hospital, Pune.
The incident has led to the closure of the road, and the authorities are actively working to resolve the situation.
The Fire Brigade, PMC’s Garden Department team, and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) team have been deployed to the site to clear the fallen tree and restore normalcy. Their efforts are ongoing, and the road is expected to be reopened for traffic by tomorrow morning.
